He wants to kill himself. He cannot. Instead he will seek out his bethrothed cousin Bita and beg for her forgiveness…

In act I Don Ottavio is debating with himself whether Don Giovanni is a scoundrel, a murderer or if he is still a honest nobelman. In his great confusion he decidedes, for the sake of his beloved Donna Anna, that he will not hesitate until he has found proof of her accusations of Don Giovanni’s grave actions, even if the price is his own death to defend Donna Anna’s honor and peace.
